聖書：サムエル記下5：1-3 詩篇122 コロサイの教会への手紙1：12-20 ルカ23：35-43
私達は、「神様」という言葉を使います。でも、私達の神様はどういう方でしょうか？私達は神を見ることが出来ません。
しかし、私達が人間、イエスに出会う時、私達は実際に神様を見る事が出来ます。今日の第二朗読には、とてもとても重要な教えがあります。「人間であるイエスは、見えない神の姿である。」（コロサイへの手紙1章15節）
神は弱い人間に対してどのような態度を取っておられるでしょうか？もし私達が、神から離れてしまったら、神は私達を忘れ、罰するでしょうか？いえ、とんでもない！私達が復活されたイエスに出会う時、彼は優しく、忍耐強く、私達を受け入れてくださり、赦しを与えて下さる。私達は今も、これこそが私達、人間に対する神様の心であると言うことができるでしょう。
今少しだけ聖書を開いて、イエス様に出会い、そして、まことの神様に出会いましょう。
今日の福音の中で、私達は十字架上に釘付けされたイエスを見ます。兵隊や、民の指導者たちは、イエスを侮辱します。イエスは、「父よ、彼らをお赦し下さい。」と祈ります。そして、イエスの傍らで別の十字架に釘付けされた罪人が、回心して、自分が罪びとだと認め、イエスに、その時に自分を思いだして下さいと頼みます。イエスはひどい痛みの中で、彼（言い伝えでは彼の名は「ディスマス」）に、とても優しく言います。「今日、あなたは私と一緒に楽園にいるでしょう。」私達の人気のある典礼聖歌388「ガリラヤの風」の3番で、私達は「死を迎える時、イエス様の慰めのみ言葉を私にも聞かせて下さい」と祈り、歌います。
ペテロはイエスを知っているにもかかわらず、３回、イエスを知らないと否定しました。しかしイエスはペテロを赦しました。復活後、朝食の終わりに、イエスはペテロに３回「あなたは私を愛していますか？」と尋ねられました。
イエスは、他の人達と深く共感する心を持っておられました。例えば、イエスは友人のラザロの墓の前で泣きました。
イエスは他の人がどのように感じているかを知ることが出来ました。イエスは敏感な方でした。例えば、イエスはライ病者の人に深く共感しました。それは皮膚の病気だけでなく、家から追い出された彼らの淋しさにも深く同情しました。イエスは子供を亡くしたナインの未亡人の悲しみも深く感じました。イエスはその子供を母親に返されました。
イエスはザアカイにも共感しました。ザアカイはこの世のものをやまほど持っていましたが、心の中ではまだ空虚さを感じていました。イエスは、木の枝にいるザアカイを見上げ、彼を名前で呼んで言われました。「ザアカイ、一緒に食事しましょう。」
イエスはある時、一日中群衆に話をして疲れ果てていました。そこへ、母親たちがやってきて、イエスに子供たちを祝福して下さいと頼みました。弟子達は言いました。「あっちへ行きなさい！」しかし、イエスは母親達に時間と愛を与え、子供たちを一人一人祝福しました。
そのように、私達は人間であるイエス様の優しい心を見る時、同時に神様の優しい心を見ることができます。「イエスは目に見えない神の姿である。」正に自画像です！イエスは、「私を見る者は父を見るのだ」（ヨハネ14章8-10節）と言われます。
聖書の中で復活した主に出会いましょう。そして祈りの中で、秘跡の中でイエス様に出会いましょう。私達の羊飼い、王であるはイエス様は優しく、彼の羊である私達を愛しておられます。イエス様は、私達が彼に出会うようにと、素晴らしいお招きを下さっています。「疲れたもの、重荷を負うものは、誰でも私のもとに来なさい。休ませてあげよう。」イエス様の大きな特徴は、共感です。（翻訳担当：M）

Scripture：2 Samuel 5:1-3; Psalm122; Colos.1:12-20; Luke 23:35-43
We use the word “GOD”. But what is our God like? We cannot see God. However when we meet the human Jesus we can actually see God. In today’s 2nd reading there is a very, very important teaching. “The human Jesus is the image of the unseen God.” (Colossi 1:15)
What attitude does God take towards us weak humans? If we wander away from God, does God forget, and punish us? NEVER! When we meet the Risen Jesus being kind, patient, accepting and forgiving, we can say that this is the heart of God toward us, humans today.
Let us briefly look at the Scriptures to meet Jesus, and so meet the true God.
In today’s Gospel we see Jesus nailed to the cross. Soldiers and the leaders of his own people insult Jesus. Jesus prays: “Father forgive them.” And to a criminal nailed to another cross beside Jesus repents and says that he is a sinner, then he asks Jesus to remember him. Jesus so gentle and in terrible pain says to him (in tradition his name is ‘Dismas’). “You will be with me in Paradise this day.” In our popular hymn ‘The wind of Galilee’ in the 3rd verse we pray and song “Jesus cause me to hear these words of comfort as I die.” (Hymn #388)
Jesus forgave Peter who had denied that he even knew Jesus – 3 time. After the Resurrection at a breakfast fin, Jesus asks Peter 3 times “Do you love me?”
Jesus had a heart that felt deeply with others. Jesus had compassion. For example Jesus cried at the tomb of his friend Lazerus.
Jesus could feel how others were feeling. Jesus was sensitive. For example Jesus felt deeply for lepers – not only the skin sickness but also their loneliness because they were chased out of their home. Jesus deeply felt the sadness of the widow of Nain who had lost her child. Jesus gave the child back to his mother.
Jesus felt with Zachaeus, who had lots of this world’s comforts but still felt emptiness in his heart. Jesus looked up at Zachaeus in the tree and calling him by name said; “Zachaeus, let us have a meal together.
Jesus once was tired after talking to people for a whole day. Then mothers came and asked Jesus to bless their children. The disciples said; “Go away!” But Jesus gave time and love to the the mothers and blessed each of their children.
So when we see the kind heart of the human, Jesus we at the same time see the kind heart of God. “Jesus is the image of the unseen God.” A self-portrait! Jesus says: “The one who sees me, sees the Father.” (John 14:8-10)
Let us meet the Risen Lord in the Scripture. Let us meet Jesus in prayer and in the Sacrament. Jesus our Shepherd, King is kind and loves us his sheep. Jesus gives us a beautiful invitation to meet him: “Come to me all you who are tired and heavily burdened with pain and worries. I will refresh you.” The chief trait of Jesus is compassion.
