朗読：1サムエル記16・1-13、詩編23、エフェソ5・8-14、ヨハネ9・1-38
私たちの信仰の土台は「つながり・絆（きずな）」です。イエスの弟子として、私たちはイエスご自身を自分の命に受け入れます。イエスは私たちに友情をくださり、私たちはそれに応えます。
ですから、私たちは「キリスト教の信徒」（私ケンズは「キリストの道の弟子」のほうが好きです）と呼ばれていますが、実際は「イエスを愛し イエスに自分の人生に受け入れる人々」なのです。私たちはイエスと共に、その「道」を歩みます。
四旬節第3・4・5主日の聖書朗読は、古代教会の伝統に由来し、復活徹夜祭で洗礼を受ける人々への最後の教えです。そして私たち信徒にとっては、イエスを改めて受け入れ、信仰を更新する内容となります。これら3つの主日の聖書のテーマは「イエスとの絆」です。第3主日には井戸でサマリアの女をありのままに受け入れるイエスの姿、第5主日では同様にラザロを受け入れ、絆を結んでくださるイエスの姿が描かれます。
イエスは誰を弟子として選ばれるのでしょうか。イエスは私たちに言われます。「あなたがたがわたしを選んだのではない。わたしがあなたがたを選んだ」（ヨハネ15・16）。イエスがお選びになるのは、自分を強いと思う人ではありません。自分の人間的な力だけで何でもできると思っている人は、傲慢な心でキリストの招きを拒んでしまいます。
第一朗読で、神様はエッサイの強そうな上の息子たちを王として選びません。神が選ばれたのは末の息子ダビデ、謙遜な羊飼いでした。私たちもイエスに、自分は弱く、あなたの力が必要だと話し、絆を結びましょう。
詩編23では、イエスはご自分を羊飼いとして示されます。イエスは言われます。「わたしは自分の羊を知っている。（ヨハネ10・14）一人一人の名前を呼んで導く。」イエスは私たちに人生の正しい道を示し、私たちと共に歩んでくださいます。イエスは私たちの同伴者です。ですから、イエスと絆を結びましょう。「よい羊飼い」であるイエスは、私たちを慈しみ、正しい道へ導き、共に歩んでくださいます。
第二朗読でパウロは言います。「光の子として歩みなさい」。これは洗礼式で用いられる言葉です。イエスは、私たち人間の人生の暗闇に光を与えてくださいます。イエスは言われます。「わたしは世の光である。わたしに従う者は命の光を持つ」（ヨハネ8・12）。足もとを照らすこの灯（ともしび）のおかげで、私たちは喜びのうちに人生の道を歩むことができます。
福音では、イエスが盲人の目を開かれます。彼は私たちの代表です。私たち人間は、心の目が閉じている（盲人）です。イエスと出会い、温かいつながりを持つとき、私たちの目は開かれます。この「つながり・絆」は、私たちの日常生活に味わいを与えてくれます。盲人の信仰がどのように徐々に強められていくか注目しましょう。最初、彼はイエスを「あのかた」と呼び、次に「預言者です」と言い、そしてファリサイ派から追い出され、イエスに出会ったとき、彼は言います。「主よ、信じます」。
イエスとの絆が強くなるよう祈りましょう。 「神よ、わたしたちの目を開いてください」（翻訳担当：K）
4th SUNDAY of LENT Year. A 15/3/26
Scripture:1 Sam.16:1-13; psalm23, Ephes.5:8-14; John 9:1-41
The basis of our faith is a relationship. As followers of Jesus, we accept into our lives Jesus himself. Jesus offers us his friendship – we reply !. So even if we are called followers of Christ-teaching, in reality we are people who love Jesus and ask him to come into our lives. We walk his path, with him.
The scripture readings of Lent 3, 4, 5 are from very ancient traditions given us as the find instruction for those receiving Baptism of Festar. And for us a re- commitment, renewal.
The theme of these 3 Sunday Scripture is relationship with Jesus.
Who does Jesus choose to be his follower. Jesus says to us: ” You did not choose me, I chose you” (John.15:16) Jesus chooses those who do not think they are strong. Those who think they can do everything by their own human power, have pride which makes them refuse Christ’s call.
In the 1st reading God does not choose as king the elder, strong sons of Jesse . God chooses the youngest – David, a humble shepherd. Let us have a relationship with Jesus by telling him that we are weak and need his strength.
Psalm 23: Jesus identifies himself as our shepherd. Jesus says: “I know my Sheep. I call each by name and lead them (John 10:14) Jesus shows us the right path of life and walks with us.
Jesus is our fellow traveler. Let us have relationship.
Jesus, the Good Shepherd: has compassion on us and leads us on the right path, and walks with us.
In the 2nd reading. Paul tells us:”Walk as a child of light.” These words are used in the ceremony of Baptism. Jesus gives us light in the darkness of our human life. Jesus says: I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will have the light of life (John 8:12). With such a lamp for our feet we walk our journey with joy.
In the Gospel Jesus opens the eyes of the blind man he is our representative. We humans have a blindness in our hearts. When we meet Jesus and have a warm relationship with him, our eyes are opened. This relationship gives taste to our everyday lives. Notice how the blind man’s faith gradually strengthens. At first he cells Jesus “That person”, Then “He is a prophet.” And after he has been Insulted by the Pharisees and is found by Jesus, the blind man says “Lord, I believe in you.”
Let us pray that our relationship with Jesus will grow.
