待降節第1の週、福音は私たちに「たゆむことなく歩みなさい」と語りかけます。人生の道で立ち止まってはいけません。「もう十分だ」と言ってはいけません。「主の山に登ろう」と。「主の光の中を歩もう」（イザヤ2:5）「神の家に行こう」（詩編122）
私たちは「キリストに出会う」という言葉を使います。最初の出会いがあり、私達には、生涯を通じて、より深い出会いが必要です。イエスとの友情は深まっていくものです。待降節は行動の時です！
福音書のイエスは、神へのこの歩みを後回しにしてはならない、と言います。「忙しさ」に気を取られて道を外れてはならない。人生の一番の目的を忘れてはならないのです。ノアの時代の人々は悪いことをしたわけではありません。ただ忙しさに追われ、神を忘れてしまったのです。。彼らはこの世のことや富に夢中になりました。この世のことや富それ自体は悪ではありませんが、気を散らすものとなります！神に会い、その光を味わうために山を登ることを後回しにしてはならない。私たちには具体的な行動が求められます。
キリストにどう出会うのか？神の光を味わうために山を登るには何をすべきでしょうか？
聖書、特に福音書を開き、イエスに出会いましょう。それからその内容について、自分の言葉でイエスに話しましょう。これは「聖書を祈る」と呼ばれる祈り方です。
私たちは秘跡の中でキリストに出会います。ご聖体をいただいてキリストご自身に出会います。ゆるしの秘跡をとおして、わたしたちを理解し、ゆるしを与えてくださるイエスに出会います。私たちの心には、何らかの闇があります。例えば、恨み、わだかまり、人を完全にはゆるせない気持ち、イエスの「心を尽くして私に従いなさい」という招きに中途半端に応えてしまうこと、あるいはスマートフォンやSNS、インターネット、飲酒、買い物への依存などです！ゆるしの秘跡に与り、イエスに光を与えていただきましょう。
苦しむ人、孤独な人、貧しい人に手を差し伸べるとき、私たちはイエスに出会います（マタイ25章参照）。
「祈り」に立ち返りましょう！一日は24時間、1440分です。命を与えてくださる神に、少なくとも毎日3～5分を捧げましょう。感謝の気持ちで、少なくともその時間、祈りましょう。
生涯を通して、私たちはキリストと深く出会い続けます。私たちの神であるイエスとの友情は深まっていきます。今日、アレルヤ唱で私たちはこう祈ります「アレルヤ！主よ、あなたのいつくしみを示し、救いをお与えください」。そして集会祈願では「わたしたちがキリストを日々の生活のうちに迎えられますように」と祈ります。
待降節は、私たちを創られた神の神秘を思い起す特別な時です。天の栄光から降り、私たちと同じ人間として生きてくださった神。私たちの神は人間に近づかれました。イエスは人間の生活を送られました。復活されたキリストは、今も私たちの間に生きておられます。私たちの心の中に来てくださいと願い、あたたかいもてなしでイエスをお迎えしましょう。（翻訳担当：K）

In the first week of Advent the Scriptures tell us to MOVE. Do not let us stay un-moving on the path of life. Do not let us say: “This few is enough” “Let us climb the mountain of the Lord.” “Let us walk in the light of the Lord.”(Isaiah2:5) “Let us go to God’s house ”(Psalm122)
We use the words: “to meet Christ” There is our first meeting, but there must be deeper meetings our whole life. The friendship with Jesus becomes stronger. Advent is a time for movement!
Jesus in the Gospel tells us not to delay this movement towards God. And do not get districted by being ‘busy’ and so forget our main purpose in this life. The people pf Noah’s time did not do bad things, they just got so busy that they forgot God. They concentrated on doing worldly things and worldly goods. There are not evil in themselves but can be distractions! So let us not delay in climbing the mountain to meet God enjoy light. Our active movement is involved.
How do we meet Christ? What must we do to climb the mountain to enjoy God7s light?
Let us open the Scriptures, especially the Gospels and meet Jesus. Then let us talk to Jesus in our words about what we read. This is a way of prayer called: ”Praying the Scripture”
We meet Christ in the Sacraments. In the Eucarist we meet Christ himself. In the sacrament of Forgiveness we meet the understanding and forgiving Jesus. Most of us have some darkness in our heart. A few examples of darkness are: resentment, grudge, cannot fully forgive, a half-hearted response to the call of Jesus: ‘Come follow me, with all your heart’, maybe there is some addiction, to Smartphone, SNS, the Internet, alcohol, buying things, etc. Let us allow Jesus to give us light in the Sacrament of Forgiveness.
We meet Jesus when we help people who are suffering, lonely or poor.(cf.Matt.25)
Let us go back to prayer! In one day there are 24 hours, or 1440minutes. Let us give at least 3-5 minutes to the God who give us life. Let us do at least that in gratitude.
In our whole life we keep meeting Christ in an ever deeper way. Our friendship with Jesus our God becomes deeper. Today, before the Gospel we pray: “Alleluia! Lord, let us see your kindness.” And in today’s opening prayer we pray: “May we welcome Christ in our daily life”
Advent is a special season when we consider the wonder of the God who created us, coming down from the glory of Heaven to live a human life just like us. Our God become close to us humans. Jesus shared human life with us. The Risen Christ lives amongst us now. Let us welcome Jesus and ask him to come into our hearts.
