聖書：サムエル上1：20-28；詩編８４；１ヨハネ３：1-24；ルカ2:41-52
神よ私たちの家族の上にあなたの愛をそそいでください
今日の福音にはこうあります。「イエスの母マリアは、これらのことをすべて心に納めていた。」言い換えれば、マリアは自分の人生で起こったことを神に話したのです。そしてマリアは、聖書の祈り、つまり詩篇を祈りました。私たちも、マリア様に倣って祈りましょう。
今日の答唱詩篇（84篇）「主を畏れる者は幸い。」詩篇の原語であるヘブライ語では、「畏れる」という言葉は、神に尊敬と畏敬の念を捧げることを意味します。神は恐ろしい方ではありません！神は私たちに「恐れるな」とおっしゃっています。この背景には「心配するな、私はあなたと共にいる」という意味があるのです。
「主の道を歩む者は幸い。」私たちはその道を歩んでいます。私たちは本当に祝福されています。この道を知り、歩む特権と喜びを味わいましょう。そして、復活されたイエス、私たちの神が、いつも人生の道を私たちと共に歩んでくださることを思い出しましょう。
「主よ、あなたの住まいはうるわしい。」私たちは、主の家に住んでいます。洗礼によって、私たちは神に愛される子になります。そしてイエスは私たちにこう言います。「私にとどまりなさい」（ヨハネ15章）。神の家では、私たちは安全で、暖かく、愛につつまれています。私たちは神と同じ家に住んでいます。
「主よ、私の魂は主の庭を慕い、心とからだは生ける神にあこがれる。」神を知り、その素晴らしさに出会うことは重要です。私たちは、イエスにもっと深く会いたいと望みましょう。イエスをもっと愛したいと憧れを持ちましょう。この憧れの恵みを願いましょう。復活した私たちの神、イエスは、私たちの心の扉の前に立ってノックしています。イエスは私たちが扉を開けるのを待っています。そして、イエスは私たちと一緒に温かい家庭的な食事をするためにやって来ます。（ヨハネの黙示録３章）「巡礼を志す人は、枯れた谷を通り、そこを泉に変える。」
これは、神が私たちの人生の旅路を守ってくれるということを詩的に表現したものです。私たちはマリアのように神を信頼するよう求められています。
第二朗読は、私たちが本当の意味で神の子どもであり、神は私たち一人一人を深く愛しておられる父であるということを教えてくれます。
福音の中で、誤解のせいでマリアが12歳のイエスを3日間見失ったことが書かれています。マリアはイエスに「私たちは心配して捜していたのです。」と言います。マリアはこの悲しみを神に伝えました。何年も経ってからようやく彼女は理解しました。私たちにも悲しい出来事があります。それを祈りに生かしましょう。その意味と目的は、後に明らかになります。

Scripture: 1 Samuel 1:20-28; Psalm 84; 1 John 3:1-24; Luke 2:41-52
In today’s Gospel we read: Mary, the mother of Jesus “Kept all thesethings in her heart.” In other words, Mary talked to God about things thathappened in her life. Mary also prayed the prayers of the Bible, that is thePsalms.
Let us like Mary pray today’s Psalm Psalm 84 “Happy the one who fearsthe Lord.” In the original Hebrew language of the Psalms the word ‘fear’had 2 meanings decided by context. In this line “fear the Lord” means giverespect and reverence to God. God is NOT FEARSOME! God tells us “Fearnot” which means in the context “do not worried because I am with you”
The next line of our Psalm 84: “Happy the one who walks the path of theLord.” We walk that path. We are truly blessed. Let us taste the privilegeand joy of knowing and walking this path. And let us remember always thatthe Risen Jesus, our God, walks beside us on the path of life.
“O Lord your house is beautiful.” We live in the Lord’s house. By Baptismwe become a loved child of God. And Jesus tells us: “Make your home in me”(John 15). In God’s house we are safe, warm and surrounded in love. Welive in the same house as God!
“O Lord, my soul and body have a desire, and yearning to live in garden.” It is important for us to realize the beauty of knowing God. We need tohave a great desire to meet Jesus in a deeper way. We need to have ayearning to love Jesus more. Let us ask for this gift of yearning to meetJesus. Risen Jesus, our God, stands at the door of our heart knocks. Jesuswaits for us to open our door. Then Jesus comes in to have a warm familymeal with us. (See Revelation)
“The person on pilgrimage will be given strength and supplied with waterand food.”
This is a poetic way of saying that God will protect us our journey of life.We are called to trust God – as Mary did.
The 2nd Scripture reading tells us that we are truly children of God whois a Father who loves each one of us deeply.
In the Gospel we see Mary because of a misunderstanding losing the 12years old Jesus for 3 days. Mary says to Jesus: “We have been looking foryou with great worry.” Mary talked to God about this sadness. It was onlyyears later did she understand. We too have sad happenings – let us usethem in prayer. The meaning and purpose will some time later.
