聖書：イザヤ6：1-8; 詩編138; １コリント15：1-11; ルカ5：1-11
神の愛を持って こぎだせ こぎだせ
私たちは、イエスの弟子になるようにお招きを受けています。イエスは私たち一人ひとりにこう言っています。「あなたがたが私を選んだのではなく、私があなたがたを選んだのです。」（ヨハネ15:16）私たちは、イエスの呼びかけに自由に応えるよう求められています。神からの呼びかけは、聖書にたびたび登場します。アブラハム、モーセ、ギデオン、エレミヤです。今日の聖書朗読では、さらに3人、イザヤ、パウロ、ペテロが登場します。「彼らは弱い人たちでしたが、力を受けました。」聖書のすべての呼びかけにおいて、呼ばれた人は、それを受け入れるには自分は不十分だと感じています。マリアは「とまどい」ました。イザヤは、汚れた唇の者で、神について語る資格がなく、語ることができないと感じました。パウロは、キリスト教徒の迫害とステファノの殺害の同意に良心の呵責を感じていました。ペテロは、自分が罪人であると感じていました。
聖書の中で呼ばれた人は皆、自分の弱さと、神が求めている呼びかけに応えることができないことを認めています。
そのとき、神は呼びかけに応じるための力と導きを与えてくださいます。神は一人ひとりにこう言われます。「恐れることはない。わたしはあなたと共にいる。」聖パウロはこれを「弱さの中の力」と認めています。（２コリント12：9）
聖書の登場人物たちは、現代の私たちとは関係ないと思わないでください。聖書の中の人たちは、私たち一般人より優れていると考えないでください。彼らは私たちの代表者です。彼らは、私たち平凡な人間に神の呼びかけにどう応えるかを教えてくれます。私たちは一人残らず、イエスの弟子になるように呼ばれています。イエスは、私たちが住んでいる小さな社会の中で、彼の愛の道具となるように求めています。私たちは神の恵みを分かち合うように呼びかけられ、選ばれています。イエスに選ばれたからといって、私たちはエリートということではありません。私たちは特別な使命を与えられます。既婚者または独身者。父親または母親。学生、働く人。教会の中で「特別な使命」を果たしている人もいれば、社会（またはその両方）の中で「特別な使命」を果たしている人もいます。「リタイヤ」してから呼ばれている人もいます。
そして、イエスからの呼びかけは一度だけではありません。イエスは、特に人生の旅の途中で、何度も私たちを呼びかけます。ある人は、赤ん坊のときに呼びかけられますが（幼児洗礼）、大人として再び呼びかけに応じなければなりません。
① 誰もがキリストに呼ばれています。静かに祈りながら、自分自身に問いかけましょう。「今、何のために呼ばれているのか？」
② 弱さとできないことを認めましょう。
③ キリストに力と導きを求めましょう。
④ いつも、その力を心にとめ、頼りましょう。
⑤ そして、イザヤの言葉「わたしがここにおります。私を遣わしてください。」と願いましょう。

Scripture: Isaiah 6:1-8; Psalm 138; 1 Corinthians 15:1-11; Luke 5:1-11
Each one of us has received an invitation from Jesus to be his follower.Jesus tells each of us: “You did not choose me. I chose you.” (John 15:16) Weare asked to freely answer the call of Jesus.
A call from God is a frequent scene in the Bible. These are some who areso called: Abraham, Moses, Gideon and Jeremiah. In today’s scripturereading we meet 3 more: Isaiah, Paul and Peter. “These are weak people whoreceived strength.” In every call in the Bible, the person called feelsinadequate to accept the call. Mary felt “disturbed”. Isaiah felt unworthyand unable to speak about God. Paul had the persecution of Christians andconsent of Stephen’s killing on his conscience. Peter felt that he was a sinner.Everyone who is called in the Bible acknowledges weakness and inabilityto answer the call to do what God is asking them to do.
It is then that God gives strength and guidance to answer the call. Godsays to each: “Fear not, because I am with you.” St. Paul sums this up as‘strength in weakness’ (2 Corinthians 12; 9)
Please do not think that those characters in the Bible do not have anyconnection with us today. Please do not think of these in the Bible as wayabove us ordinary people! They are our representatives. They tell usordinary people how to answer God’s call. EVERY ONE OF US WITHOUTEXEPTION HAS BEEN CALLED BY JESUS TO FOLLOW HIM. JESUSASKS US TO BE INSTRUMENTS OF HIS LOVE WITHIN THE SMALLSOCIETY IN WHICH WE LIVE. Weare called and chosen to share God’sgifts. Being called and chosen by Jesus does not make us on elite group. Weare given some special work to do. This ‘special work’ maybe as a marriedperson or single. A father or mother. A student, one at a workplace. Somehave their ‘special work’ within the church, some within society (or both).Some are called be ‘retired’.
And the call from Jesus does not come just once. Jesus calls us again andagain, especially in the steps of life’s journey. Some are called as babies(infant baptism) but we are called again to answer as adults.
① Everyone is called by Christ. In quiet, prayerful silence let us askourselves: ”What is my call NOW?”
② Acknowledge weakness and inability to answer.
③ Ask Christ for strength and guidance.
④ Always recall and rely on that strength.
⑤ Then say to Jesus in the words of Isaiah “Here I am, send me.”
