アッバ父なる神様の いつくしみを味わいましょう
「イエス様！父なる神を私に示してください。」これは、私がしばしば祈る聖書の短い祈りです。私たちが父なる神に愛された子であることを深く悟るために、私たちの内に働いてくださるのはイエス様ご自身です。そして、今日のたとえ話です。
皆さんに質問します。「イエス様の道を歩むとき、喜びと安心を感じますか？」この喜びと安心は、神様が100％無条件の愛を一人一人に注いでくださっていることが土台となります。私たちは人生の道を歩むとき、この愛に包まれています。
イエス様は、具体的で生き生きとした美しい物語を通して、励ましの真理を私たちに教えてくれます。このたとえ話は「放蕩息子」と呼ばれていますが、実は、たとえ話の中心人物は父親です。このたとえ話をよりよく理解するために、息子に拒絶されたときと息子が戻ってきたときの父親の気持ちを想像してみましょう。私たちは誰もが、この物語を知っています。しかし、新しい心でそれを聞きましょう（または読みましょう）。私たちの神様はすべての人に慈しみ深いのです。
このたとえ話の父親には2人の息子がいます。次男は田舎暮らしは面白くないと考え、都会の華やかな街に行きたいと思っていました。父親が亡くなったら、次男は父親の財産の1/3を相続することになっていましたが、彼はそれまで待つことができません。彼は今すぐにそのお金を要求することで父親を侮辱し、悲しませたのです。父親は息子の恩知らずと、父親の大きな愛を息子が理解していないことに非常に傷つきました。それでも父親は息子にお金を与えました。
息子は家を出て、父と母を捨てます。彼はそのお金をすべて、偽りの友人と飲み、女につぎ込みます。しかし、お金がなくなり、偽りの友人もいなくなったちょうどその時、飢饉が起こります。息子は豚の世話をするようなどん底の生活に落ち、空腹です。そこでやっと、彼は深く考え始め、自分が自己中心的だったことに初めて気づきます。彼は神様と父親に、申し訳なかった、もう自分は息子と呼ばれる資格はないと、告げる決心をして家に戻ります。
さて、ここで中心人物である父親の登場です。父親は毎日、遠くにある帰り道を眺め続けています。息子に会えることを願い、祈りを捧げています。やっとある日、父親はぼろぼろの服を着た息子を見つけます。父親は走って行って、息子を温かく抱きしめて「息子よ、おかえり」と語りかけます。父親は良い服、指輪、履物で息子を再び息子らしくします。そして、一緒に喜びに満ちた食事をし、父と子は幸せを感じます。（父なる神があなたを抱きしめているところを想像してください。その温かさと赦されていることを感じてください。）
すべては赦されます。私たちが「ごめんなさい」と言えば、神様は私たちを完全に赦してくださいます。
これは、神様が私たち一人一人をどれほど愛しているかを示す、美しく具体的な物語です。私たちは神様を忘れたり、神様から離れたり、神様を拒絶することもあるかもしれませんが、神様は100％愛し続け、私たちが戻ってくるのを待ち望んでいます。私たちは、ゆるしの秘跡で愛と赦しを体験できます。神様は私たちに新しい命を与えてくれます。そしてこう言います。「わたしはあなたの名を呼ぶ。わたしの目にあなたは価高く。わたしはあなたを愛している。だから恐れるな、わたしはあなたと共にいる。」（イザヤ書43章）

Scripture:Joshua 5:9-12; Psalm 34; 2 Corinthians 5:17-21; Luke 15:1-3, 11-32
“Jesus! Please show me the Father” is a short prayer from the Bible,which I pray frequently. It is Jesus himself who works within us to showthe deep meaning of us being a loved child of the Father. And today’sparable.
I ask you this question! “Do you feel joy and security as you walk thepath of Jesus?” This joy and feeling of security are based on the fact thatGod loves each one of us with 100% unconditional love. As we walk thepath of life, we are wrapped in this love.
Jesus teaches us this beautiful and encouraging truth through awonderful concrete and alive story. This parable is called “The ProdigalSon”, but really the main character is the father in the parable. Tounderstand this parable better, imagine how the father felt-both when hewas rejected by his son, and when the son returned. We all know thestory! But let us listen (or read) it with a new heart. Our God iscompassionate to all.
In the parable this father has 2 sons. The second son thought countrylife un-interesting. He wanted to go to the bright lights of the city. Whenhis father died the second son would inherit 1/3 of his father’s assets. Buthe could not wait that long! He insulted and grieved his father by asking for that money NOW! The father would feel very hurt at his son’singratitude and his son not appreciating the great love that he, as hisfather, felt for him. In spite of all, the father gave his son the money.
The son leaves his home, his father and mother. He spends all thatmoney drinking with false friend, and on women. But just as his moneyhas all gone, and false friend too, there is a drought. The son workslooking after pigs. The son is down-caste and very hungry. But he startsthinking. He realizes that he has been self-centered. He decides to tellGod and his father that he is sorry. Not worthy to be a son.
Now, here we come to the main character, the father. Daily the fatherhas been gazing down the distant return road. He hopes and prays to seehis son. Then one day the father sees his son in ragged clothes. The fatherrushes out and gives the son a big warm hug. And says ‘Welcome back myson.” He re-insulates his child to full son-ship with cloth, ring andsandals. Then they have a joyful meal together. Father and son arehappy. (Imagine that God the Father hugs you – feel the warmth and acceptance.)
All is forgiven. Our God forgives us totally, if we tell him “Sorry.” This is a beautiful concrete story of how much our God loves us – eachone of us. We may forget our God, or drift away, or even reject God, butGod continues to love 100%. God is waiting for us to come back to him. Wecan experience God’s love and forgiveness in the Sacrament ofForgiveness. God gives us new life. God says: “I call you by name. You areprecious in my eyes. I love you. So, fear not I am with you.” (Isaiah 43)
